| 表面の説明 | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, depicted with a diadem and wearing a necklace, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear below the bust truncation. The circular legend reads 'ELIZABETH II · 2020 · SOLOMON ISLANDS' along the upper periphery, while 'FIVE DOLLARS' appears along the lower periphery, all separated by raised dot dividers. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. |

Issued on the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, this coin commemorates an event that had particular resonance for the Pacific theater — the Solomon Islands were among the most heavily contested territories of the entire war, with the Guadalcanal Campaign of 1942–43 marking the first major Allied offensive against Japanese forces and costing tens of thousands of lives on both sides.
VE Day itself brought no immediate relief to the region; fighting in the Solomons and surrounding islands continued for months after Germany's surrender.
