背面描述	A large, boldly struck portrait bust of the Western Roman Emperor Valentinian III faces right in high relief, rendered in an archaic Roman imperial style with pearl diadem and draped paludamentum. The emperor's elaborate pearl-encrusted diadem and pendilia are rendered in fine detail. The arc legend DN VALENTI to the left and NIANVS PF AVG to the right encircle the bust, following the epigraphic convention of late Roman imperial coinage. The Roman numeral date MMXXI appears in the exergue. The entire design is framed by a continuous Greek meander border.

附加信息	Valentinian III ruled the Western Roman Empire from 425 to 455, a reign defined less by governance than by the slow administrative collapse of Roman authority in the West. The real power for much of his rule rested with the generalissimo Aetius, whose victory over Attila at the Catalaunian Plains in 451 bought the West perhaps its last significant military reprieve. Valentinian personally murdered Aetius in 454 — reportedly with his own hand — and was himself assassinated six months later by Aetius's former bodyguards.
