Obverse description The Arms of Barbados are centrally displayed, featuring a quartered shield bearing two sugar cane stalks and a Pride of Barbados flower, supported on the dexter by a dolphin and on the sinister by a pelican, both standing on a grassy mount. Above the shield rests a helmet with mantling and a crest depicting an armoured arm holding two crossed pieces of sugarcane. A scroll below the supporters bears the national motto PRIDE AND INDUSTRY in the legend. The country name BARBADOS arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 1995 inscribed in the lower field, all within a beaded border.

Reverse description A robed allegorical figure is depicted in the central field raising a flag bearing the trident symbol of Barbados, set against the architectural facade of the United Nations Secretariat building rendered in high relief. To the right of the central design, the large numeral 50 is prominently displayed alongside the United Nations emblem — a world map encircled by olive branches — commemorating the 50th anniversary of the organisation. The arc legend NATIONS UNITED FOR PEACE runs along the upper periphery, flanked by a small floral ornament, with the date range 1945-1995 following, and the denomination 5 DOLLARS inscribed along the lower border.
