Obverse description Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupying the central field of the rectangular flan. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs to the left of the portrait and COOK ISLANDS arcs to the right. Below the truncation appears the engraver's initials IRB, with the denomination 5 DOLLARS inscribed beneath.
