Aanvullende informatie

World Youth Day 2008 was held in Sydney, Australia — the first time the event had returned to the Southern Hemisphere since Buenos Aires in 1987. Cook Islands held no organizational role in the event whatsoever; the issue is a pure numismatic product, licensed for collector revenue. Swarovski crystal inclusions became a recurring device in Pacific island commemorative programs during the 2000s, as smaller issuing authorities competed for shelf space in the novelty bullion market.
