Part of a broad series of miniature gold issues produced for the Pacific collector market in the early 2010s, this piece was struck by a private mint on behalf of the Central Bank and is legal tender in name only — no $5 coin of this size ever saw circulation in the Solomons. The Statue of Zeus at Olympia was destroyed, most likely by fire, sometime in the 5th or 6th century AD; its appearance survives only through ancient coins and descriptions by Pausanias.
