St. Barbara's Church in Kutná Hora, Czech Republic, was begun in 1388 and remained unfinished for over a century, its construction repeatedly interrupted by the Hussite Wars and chronic funding shortfalls from the declining silver mines that had originally made the city wealthy enough to attempt it. Niue has issued gold miniatures under this format through the Czech Mint, which produces the blanks and strikes the pieces domestically before they ship under Niuean authority.
