| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, engraved by Ian Rank-Broadley (IRB), occupying the central field with fine portrait detail including a tiara and flowing hair. The legend ELIZABETH II is inscribed along the upper left arc and NIUE ISLAND along the upper right arc, both in raised Latin characters. The lower portion of the field bears the denomination 5 DOLLARS and the date 2022, flanked by the fineness mark Ag 999. A continuous beaded border frames the entire obverse. The coin displays an antiqued finish giving the silver surfaces a darkened, high-relief appearance. |
