| 正面铭文 | CAYMAN ISLANDS ELIZABETH II 5 DOLLARS |
| 背面描述 | Central scene depicting two young children wading at the shoreline of a tropical beach, one stooping to tend a small toy sailboat in the shallow water while the other stands alongside. A grove of tall palm trees frames the left background, with a calm sea and low-lying islets receding into the distance. The curved legend 'SAVE THE CHILDREN' arcs prominently along the upper periphery, and the date '1989' is inscribed in the lower exergue. The entire composition is executed in finely detailed relief against a mirror-polished proof field. |

The Save the Children Fund, founded in London in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb in response to post-war famine in Central Europe, became the subject of a wave of commemorative issues from Commonwealth territories during the late 1980s as the organization approached its 70th anniversary. The Cayman Islands, a British Overseas Territory with a mint program heavily oriented toward collector sales rather than circulation, issued this piece within that commemorative context.
The .925 silver specification and 28.28g weight align with the Crown-sized format widely adopted for Commonwealth commemoratives of the period, produced largely through the Royal Mint and its contracted partners for export to the collector market.
