| Obverse description | The obverse features the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as engraved by Susan Taylor, depicting the monarch with elaborately styled hair and a pearl necklace. The portrait is uncrowned and rendered in fine detail with softly modeled facial features characteristic of the Taylor effigy used on Canadian coinage from 2003 onward. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left rim, while D·G·REGINA arcs along the upper right, separated by the portrait. A beaded inner border encircles the entire obverse field. |
