| 正面描述 | Right-facing diademed and draped bust effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, centered within a rectangular polished field with rounded corners. The legend 'COOK ISLANDS' and '5 DOLLARS' appear above the effigy in two lines, while 'ELIZABETH II' is inscribed in the lower field beneath the bust. The portrait renders the Queen wearing a tiara and light drapery, with fine detail in the hair and facial features characteristic of the fourth definitive effigy. |

Part of a broader Russian Orthodox saints series produced for the Cook Islands collector market, this issue commemorates Saint Catherine of Alexandria, venerated across Eastern Christianity as one of the most prominent early martyrs. The historical Catherine — if she existed at all — is thought to have been executed under Diocletian around 305 AD, though the Roman Martyrology's account has been contested by scholars for centuries. The Vatican removed her feast day from the universal calendar in 1969 on the grounds that her historicity could not be confirmed.
