The "Pride of Two Nations" set was a joint issue between the Royal Canadian Mint and the United States Mint — a rare instance of two sovereign minting authorities collaborating on a matched pair of coins sharing a common release. The Canadian piece was struck in .9999 fine silver while its American counterpart used .999, a small but pointed difference that quietly underscores each mint's house standards even within a cooperative product.
Limited to 100,000 units for the Canadian issue, the set sold out rapidly and almost immediately commanded premiums on the secondary market.
