| Additional information |
Peter II ruled Yugoslavia for just under eleven years, ascending the throne at age eleven following his father Alexander I's assassination in Marseille in 1934. He spent most of his reign under a regency, then fled the country in 1941 when German forces invaded — never to return. He died in Denver in 1970, the last King of Yugoslavia.
The Zirconia crystals embedded in this coin's field place it within Niue's decorative collector series, where the island's status as a New Zealand-associated territory grants it the right to issue legal tender under Elizabeth II.
