Reverse description A dynamic high-relief depiction of Pegasus, the winged horse of Greek mythology, rendered in selective gold gilding against the coin's polished silver field. The mythical creature is shown in full gallop, leaping to the right with powerful forelegs raised and large outstretched wings spanning nearly the full diameter of the coin. Billowing clouds rendered in ungilded silver relief occupy the lower field, providing a dramatic contrast to the gilded figure above. The reverse carries no inscriptions, allowing the sculptural design to dominate the entire field.
