Obverse description Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear truncated at the base of the neck. The legend ELIZABETH II is inscribed along the left arc and COOK ISLANDS 5 DOLLARS along the right arc of the coin, with the date 2017 positioned in the lower field beneath the portrait.
