Aanvullende informatie

The East Caribbean Currency Authority struck this piece to mark Pope John Paul II's pastoral visit to the region in 1986, during which he toured several Eastern Caribbean islands across a single itinerary. It was an unusual commission for the ECCA, an institution whose mandate was monetary infrastructure rather than commemorative issues, and the silver proof variant exists in far smaller numbers than the accompanying cupro-nickel circulation strike.
