Reverse description The central field features a naturalistic group of sugar maple leaves rendered in selective colour, depicting mature and juvenile foliage suspended from a gracefully curving stem, evoking autumnal vitality. To the left of the composition, the dual dates 1996 and 2021 are inscribed vertically, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the original Maple design, accompanied by a small maple leaf privy mark below. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 5 DOLLARS is inscribed in two lines along the lower border. A small engraver's initials mark appears in the central field to the right of the leaf grouping.
