Obverse description Oval flan featuring the fourth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, shown as a right-facing diademed and draped bust set within an ornate Baroque-style scrollwork cartouche occupying the upper half of the coin. The legend 'NIUE ISLAND' arcs along the upper border, with 'ELIZABETH II' inscribed below the portrait. The denomination '5 DOLLARS' appears vertically along the left edge and the date '2012' vertically along the right edge. The lower half of the field displays a finely detailed relief of an open Fabergé egg revealing a decorative floral basket surprise, rendered in high relief. The fineness mark 'Au 900' is inscribed in the lower exergue.
