P#CS1 is not a circulating banknote but a souvenir card issued by the Central Bank of Belize, produced on an unusual hybrid substrate bonding paper with gold foil — a format with no precedent in Belizean currency proper. The ocelot design was drawn from the regular 1983–84 series printed by Thomas De La Rue, but the souvenir application repurposes that imagery outside any legal tender framework.
Collector demand for CS1 has historically outpaced supply simply because initial distribution was limited to specific events and the Central Bank's own promotional channels, not through normal banking networks.
