| Reverse description | Nine intricately detailed Chinese imperial dragons rendered in high relief fill the entire field, their sinuous, scale-covered bodies intertwined amid swirling auspicious clouds depicted in the traditional East Asian artistic style. A central vertical ruyi sceptre divides the composition, at the intersection of which a genuine freshwater pearl is set as an inset element symbolising the dragon's sacred flaming pearl. The dominant central dragon faces the viewer frontally at the top of the design, its horned head and clawed feet prominently detailed, while the remaining eight dragons coil dynamically around the field. The antiqued silver finish imparts dramatic depth and shadow to the high-relief sculptural work. No inscriptions or legends appear on the reverse. |
