| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, wearing a tiara and pearl earring, with the engraver's initials IRB incused at the truncation. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left field and TOKELAU 2022 along the upper right, flanking the portrait. Below the effigy, the denomination inscription 1oz. 999 SILVER FIVE DOLLARS is arranged in two lines across the central field. A traditional Tokelauan ipu (lidded vessel) motif appears in the lower field, beneath which a decorative ribbon cartouche bears the motto TOKELAU MO TE ATUA.
