Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse features a colorized celebratory design commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Miffy character, created by Dutch artist Dick Bruna. A central full-color depiction of the modern Miffy rabbit stands before a birthday cake adorned with lit candles on a blue and red dish, rendered in applied color. Surrounding the central figure are five silver-toned relief representations of Miffy as she appeared in different years, each dated: 1955, 1963, 1988, 1995, and 2003, arranged around the field. The legend 'miffy 50th' appears prominently in the upper-central field, the denomination '$5' is inscribed along the lower left, and the copyright notice '© Mercis bv' appears at the lower right.

Aanvullende informatie

Miffy — the minimalist rabbit character created by Dutch illustrator Dick Bruna in 1955 — became the subject of a cottage industry of legal tender collector coins in the early 2000s, largely through the Cook Islands' willingness to license popular cultural properties for bullion-adjacent issues. This piece, at 155.5 g of fine silver, falls into the five-ounce format favored by that market and was produced for the character's 50th anniversary year.
