| Beschrijving voorzijde | Within a circular inset at the center of the rectangular flan, the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is depicted in a diademed and draped portrait after the Ian Rank-Broadley design. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II to the left, NIUE and FIVE DOLLARS to the right, with the date 2012 positioned below the portrait in the lower arc. Below the circular inset, in the field of the rectangular bar, the weight and fineness specifications 100g 999 FINE SILVER are inscribed. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a full-color reproduction of a detail from Leonardo da Vinci's celebrated mural 'The Last Supper' (c. 1495–1498), applied directly to the rectangular silver field. The depicted section focuses on the Apostle Matthew, rendered in a blue robe with gesturing hands, seated at the banquet table with other apostles partially visible to either side. The color printing faithfully reproduces the warm tones and Renaissance artistic style of the original fresco, covering the entirety of the reverse field. No legends or inscriptions appear on the reverse. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The "Matthew" in this title refers to HMS Matthew, the vessel commanded by John Cabot on his 1497 voyage from Bristol to North America — the first documented European landfall on the continent since the Norse expeditions, and the journey that gave England its territorial claims to North America. Niue has issued numerous large-format silver pieces under licensing arrangements that allow it to produce collectibles well outside its own economic or historical orbit.
KM#753 is part of a broader ships-and-exploration series. At 100g of .999 silver, these were sold directly into the collector market and never approached general circulation.
