| 裏面の説明 | Finely detailed portrait of Marie Manrique de Lara z Pernštejna rendered in high relief, depicting her facing slightly left with elaborately braided and coiled hair and a decorative ruffled collar characteristic of 16th-century Spanish Renaissance fashion. The portrait occupies the central and left portions of the field against a polished proof background. The legend 'MARIE MANRIQUE DE LARA Z PERNŠTEJNA' curves along the left and lower rim, while the birth and death years '(1538) · 1608' are inscribed vertically along the right rim. |

María Manrique de Lara y Mendoza was a Spanish noblewoman who served as queen consort of Poland as the wife of Sigismund II Augustus — a union arranged in 1553 partly to counter Habsburg dynastic pressure on the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. She died just two years into the marriage, in 1554, leaving Sigismund to pursue the far more famous and politically disastrous relationship with Barbara Radziwiłł. Her historical footprint is thin, which makes her appearance in a bullion-adjacent commemorative series an unusual editorial choice.
