Reverse description The reverse depicts a stylised figure of a male marathon runner in mid-stride at centre field, rendered in moderate relief, flanked on either side by decorative chevron motifs representing speed and athletic motion. In the upper portion of the field, the Olympic rings logo appears to the upper left alongside the bilingual legend OLYMPIADE XXI / OLYMPIAD in the upper right. The inscription MONTRÉAL / 1976 is positioned to the left of centre. The denomination 5 Dollars is inscribed along the lower rim in a serif typeface, completing the design engraved by Walter Ott.
