| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara, drop earring, and pearl necklace, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim and SOLOMON ISLANDS along the right rim, both in raised Latin capitals. The date 1996 appears in the lower exergue, flanked by small decorative dots. The portrait is executed in a refined proof style consistent with the Raphael Maklouf effigy used on Commonwealth coinage of this period. |
