Beschrijving keerzijde Highly detailed antiqued high-relief depiction of Guan Yu, the legendary Chinese general and deity, rendered in full battle armor and portrayed in a dynamic warrior stance. He is shown wielding his iconic Green Dragon Crescent Blade (Glaive), the blade of which is rendered in selective color with an iridescent purple hue and adorned with a gilded golden dragon motif. A coiling dragon fills the right side of the field, confronting Guan Yu with fierce countenance, its scales rendered in meticulous relief. To the upper left, the name 关羽 appears in Chinese characters within a rectangular cartouche. The engraver's initials NM appear in the lower left field.

Aanvullende informatie

Guan Yu, the Han dynasty general deified during the Sui period and now venerated across Taoism, Buddhism, and folk religion simultaneously, is among the most commercially productive subjects in the modern bullion market — particularly for Chinese diaspora collectors. Perth Mint has issued multiple Guan Yu-themed pieces targeting that demographic directly, and this 2020 five-ounce entry is part of that sustained series rather than a one-off commemorative.

KM# 315 places it within the broader Cook Islands licensing arrangement Perth uses for its colored and themed bullion program.
