The Solomon Islands has no historical or geographic connection to Egypt, but since the 1990s its government has aggressively licensed its coinage authority to private minting houses — primarily the Pobjoy Mint and B.H. Mayer — producing collectible issues for the international numismatic market rather than domestic circulation. This piece is one of hundreds in that category.
