| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing a tiara and earring, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left rim, while 5 DOLLARS and COOK ISLANDS are inscribed along the upper right rim. The date 2011 appears in the lower exergue. The portrait is consistent with the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy widely used on Commonwealth coinage of this period. |
