Solomon Islands has issued commemorative silver under its own authority since independence in 1978, but the country has no domestic mint — all such pieces are produced by contracted private minters, in this case almost certainly the Coin Invest Trust facility in Liechtenstein, which has handled the bulk of Solomon Islands' novelty coinage program since the 2000s. The Formula 1 licensing agreement that underlies this issue is managed through FIA commercial arrangements, meaning the royalty chain runs from Honiara to Vaduz to Geneva before a single planchet is struck.
