Beschrijving keerzijde A dramatic nativity-themed scene rendered in gilt relief depicts a group of shepherds and robed figures gazing upward toward the Star of Bethlehem, which radiates bold rays across the upper portion of the rectangular field. Six Swarovski crystals are inset along the rays of the star, adding a scintillating decorative effect. The figures are rendered in rich detail with varied textures of robes and fleece, creating a strong sense of depth and movement. The legend CHRISTMAS appears to the right of the central group in raised Latin lettering, with the date 2011 directly below it. The lower portion of the field is dominated by the gilt figural composition, contrasting elegantly with the polished mirror proof background above.

Aanvullende informatie

Cook Islands issued a wave of novelty silver pieces in the late 2000s and early 2010s targeting the gift and collector market rather than any circulation purpose. This particular issue incorporates Swarovski crystals set into the planchet — a technique that required partnership with specialist manufacturers outside the normal mint production chain, as standard coining presses cannot seat crystals without a secondary assembly step.
