| Beschrijving keerzijde | A highly detailed depiction of a chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes) perched upon and reaching along a naturalistic tree branch with foliage rendered in relief at lower centre. The animal is shown in a three-quarter forward-facing posture, its long-haired coat rendered with fine engraved line work. The curved legend ENDANGERED WORLD WILDLIFE arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination 5 DOLLARS appears along the lower border beneath the branch motif. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Cook Islands issued a sprawling series of wildlife-themed five-dollar coins in the late 1980s and early 1990s under licensing arrangements that had little to do with local fauna or Cook Islands policy — the series was largely a product of the international commemorative coin market, designed and distributed for collector sale rather than circulation. The chimpanzee issue falls squarely into this category.
KM#810 is one of dozens of types from this run, most sharing the same copper-nickel planchet specifications.
