| Reverse description | The mythological figure of Capricorn depicted in high relief at centre, rendered as a sea-goat with the forequarters of a horned goat and the scaled hindquarters and tail of a fish, its gilded horns rising prominently above the mirrored proof field. The central motif is set against a deeply polished black field within a plain raised border. Surrounding this inner circle is a broad gilded annular border decorated with an elaborate repeating foliate and scroll ornament incorporating stylised oak leaves and interlaced ribbon motifs in selective gold gilding. The Cyrillic inscription КОЗЕРОГ (Capricorn) is incused in the lower portion of the central field. |
