Additional information

This piece is part of the RCM's "Bank Note" series, which reproduced the designs of historical Canadian chartered bank notes in silver — a format the Mint leaned into heavily during the early 2010s as the collector market for fine silver was near its peak demand. The Canadian Bank of Commerce issued its own paper currency as a chartered bank prior to the Bank of Canada Act of 1934, which nationalized note-issuing authority and ended the era of private bank circulation notes in Canada.
