Reverse description The reverse features a coloured central disc rendered in niobium, depicting a young white-tailed buck standing in a naturalistic summer meadow setting beneath a luminous full moon, the Buck Moon of July. The niobium centre is treated with selective colouring, presenting the deer in warm golden tones against a deep dark sky scattered with stars, evoking the traditional Algonquin name for the July full moon when buck antlers are in full growth. The surrounding silver ring carries the inscriptions 'CANADA' arcing across the upper portion and '5 DOLLARS' across the lower portion, both in raised relief against the polished field.
