| Description du revers | The central field features a full-color applied image of a Brown Pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis), the state bird of Louisiana, perched upon a wooden post above water against a softly rendered pastel sky rendered in purples and pinks. A blue banner at the top of the central roundel bears the inscription LOUISIANA in white lettering, surmounted by a star in the colors of the American flag. A second blue banner at the base of the roundel reads BROWN PELICAN. The outer field beyond the roundel is engraved in fine relief with a panoramic American landscape featuring saguaro cacti, mountain ranges, and grazing wildlife.
