Additional information

Tokelau has no mint of its own and no meaningful gold-mining history — these small-format bullion issues are struck under contract and exist primarily as low-entry-point fractional gold vehicles for the collector market. The New Zealand government administers Tokelau, and that relationship grants the territory the legal framework to issue coinage despite having a total land area of roughly 12 square kilometres and a population under 1,500.

The .9999 fineness places it among the purest fractional gold issues available at this size.
