Obverse description The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt, depicted as a right-facing draped bust with a pearl necklace and earring, set within a raised inner circle in the silver centre field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left, and D·G·REGINA along the upper right, both rendered in large upright serif capitals within the outer silver ring. The date 2012 appears in the lower field beneath the inner circle. The engraver's initials SB are present on the truncation of the bust. The overall design presents a clean, unadorned field typical of Royal Canadian Mint proof coinage.
