Obverse description The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by engraver Susan Taylor, depicting the sovereign at 77 years of age in right-facing profile with bare head, wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The portrait is rendered in a refined, realistic style consistent with the Royal Canadian Mint's numismatic coinage of this period.
