Obverse description Crowned and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, modeled by Ian Rank-Broadley, with the engraver's initials 'IRB' incuse below the truncation. The portrait is set within an oval inner frame surrounded by an elaborate ornamental border featuring foliate scrollwork and floral sprays. At the top of the border, a crowned imperial orb flanked by oak and laurel branches is prominently displayed. The legends 'ELIZABETH II' and 'NIUE' appear below the portrait, with the denomination '5 DOLLARS' inscribed on a decorative cartouche at the base, and the date '2014' positioned at the upper interior of the frame.

Reverse description A full-color portrait of Empress Anna Ioanovna of Russia (1693–1740), depicted three-quarter length in imperial regalia including an ermine-trimmed golden gown, jeweled imperial crown, and the Order of Saint Andrew insignia on her bodice; she holds a gilt orb surmounted by a cross in her right hand while a scepter is visible at lower left. The central colored image is set against an engraved background depicting a Russian cityscape with onion-domed church towers and a river. The ornate Baroque border features gilt scrollwork, a double-headed imperial Russian eagle at the top, flanking allegorical figures of a putto and an armored warrior on horseback, and two red zirconia crystals set into gilt crown-shaped mounts at the sides. A gilt ribbon cartouche at the base bears the inscription 'Anna Ioanovna 1693–1740'.
