The "With Love" series from the Royal Australian Mint occupies a corner of the commemorative market squarely aimed at gift buyers rather than collectors, and this piece makes no apology for it. Pad printing — a process borrowed from industrial product decoration — allows fine color detail on curved metal surfaces without the limitations of enameling, and the Mint leaned heavily into the technique from the mid-2010s onward as demand for novelty presentation coins accelerated.
