Obverse description The obverse bears the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, sculpted by Susanna Blunt, depicting the monarch in right-facing profile at approximately 77 years of age, bareheaded and wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The portrait is rendered with fine detail characteristic of the piedfort high-relief striking, accentuating the sculptural depth of the Queen's features. The peripheral legend reads ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA, with the denomination 5 DOLLARS also appearing in the field. This portrait, introduced in 2003, reflects a mature and refined representation consistent with the Royal Canadian Mint's commemorative coinage standards.

Reverse description The reverse presents a high-relief piedfort rendition of the iconic Silver Maple Leaf bullion design, featuring a large, centrally positioned sugar maple leaf (Acer saccharum) in exceptional sculptural relief, flanked by two smaller maple leaves in the lower field. The pronounced depth of the piedfort striking imparts a dramatic three-dimensional quality to the veining and contours of each leaf. The legend CANADA arcs across the upper periphery, while FINE SILVER 1 OZ. ARGENT PUR curves along the lower border. The fineness indicator 99.99 appears to the left and the date 2013 to the right of the central leaf, with the designer's initials JLS visible in the lower field.
