Reverse description A large, highly detailed sugar maple leaf (Acer saccharum) dominates the center of the reverse field, its veining rendered with exceptional precision. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper periphery, while the bilingual purity inscriptions 9999 FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR surround the lower portion of the field. Flanking the leaf stalk at lower left is a small privy mark depicting a World War II soldier in silhouette, accompanied by the inscriptions D-Day, 6·6·44, and Jour-J at lower right, commemorating the Normandy landings of June 6, 1944. The purity designation .9999 appears twice in the mid-field, to the left and right of the leaf.
