Obverse description The fourth crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, faces right in right-facing truncated portrait, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation. The circumferential legend ELIZABETH II to the upper left and AUSTRALIA to the upper right frames the portrait, separated by a continuous inner border of fine beads.
