Obverse description The fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, faces right in right-facing profile, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs across the upper field to the left, and AUSTRALIA curves along the right, with the denomination 5 DOLLARS inscribed along the lower arc. The engraver's initials IRB appear incuse beneath the truncation of the effigy. A fine beaded border encircles the entire design.
