Reverse description A finely detailed depiction of HMS Investigator under full sail occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with crisp rigging and billowing sails against a mirror-polished background. Two bold diagonal decorative lines sweep across the left field, lending a dynamic, modern graphic quality to the composition. The denomination '5 DOLLARS' is inscribed vertically along the upper left, while the series title 'VOYAGES INTO HISTORY' runs vertically along the right border. The vessel's name 'HMS INVESTIGATOR' is lettered along the lower arc of the field. The overall design commemorates Matthew Flinders' historic circumnavigation of Australia aboard the Investigator in 1801–1803.
