Obverse description The fourth effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicting the monarch in right-facing profile wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The legend ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 2006 arcs around the upper periphery of the coin, with the engraver's initials IRB truncated at the base of the portrait. The effigy is rendered in a naturalistic style consistent with the standard Commonwealth portrait introduced in 1998.
