Obverse description Fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 2016 arcs around the upper periphery, with the designer's initials IRB appearing below the portrait truncation. Reverse description Central depiction of the memorial Cross erected at the Long Tan rubber plantation battlefield in Vietnam, commemorating the Battle of Long Tan fought on 18 August 1966. Stylised diagonal lines to the left of the cross evoke the heavy monsoon rain that fell during the engagement. The inscription BATTLE OF LONG TAN arcs above, with the denomination 5 DOLLARS at the lower obverse and the date 1966 appearing at the base of the design, referencing the year of the battle.
