Fiji's P#93 belongs to the third series issued under the Reserve Bank of Fiji following independence, a period when the central bank was actively consolidating its note designs after the political turbulence of the 1987 coups led by Sitiveni Rabuka. The transition to a purely Fijian-controlled monetary institution had been completed by then, but De La Rue retained the printing contract — as they had through virtually every prior administration.

The security thread on this series runs unwindowed, a feature De La Rue was already phasing out in favour of the segmented Gemini thread on more recent commissions elsewhere. Worth noting for collectors differentiating between the 1992 and later printings.
