Opmerkingen

The 1984 series marked a transitional moment for Bahamian note design — De La Rue had been the Bahamas' printer of record since the Central Bank's establishment in 1974, and this $5 note continued that relationship through the mid-1980s amid sustained pressure on the island economy from drug trade disruption and a softening tourism sector. The dual signature format here — Allen as Governor, Smith as a Director — reflects the Central Bank Act's requirement for co-authorization on circulating notes.

Pick 45 is notably more common in circulated grades than uncirculated; the $5 denomination saw heavy everyday use and the cotton substrate, while durable, tends to show corner wear early on this series.
